Donald
(Don) Hutchison, Co-founder of DT Global Enterprises,
is passionate about improving the lives of ethnic minorities
who, like him, come from inner-city backgrounds.
Don
was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan and graduated
from Henry Ford High School, of the Detroit Public School
system, in 1989.
At
the age of 19, Don joined an engineering/technology program
at Focus:HOPE - a prominent human and civil rights organization
- in Detroit, Michigan. Don excelled as a student and
was chosen to represent the organization at the highest
levels of city, state and federal government.
The
highlight of his time at Focus:HOPE came in 1994 when
he was asked to speak on a panel with President Clinton,
in Washington D.C., to discuss the effectiveness of the
engineering program. Don was also later invited to the
White House to witness the signing of a job training bill
put into effect by the president.
Later
that year, in Detroit, Don had the honor of touring President
Clinton, and a host of Michigan dignitaries, around the
Focus:HOPE campus, during the president's visit to the
city.
Don
graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Science degree
in Manufacturing Engineering Technology from Lawrence
Technological University, in Southfield, Michigan. He
obtained a Master of Science in Manufacturing Operations
degree from Kettering University, in Flint, Michigan.
Don
worked for General Motors Corporation (GM) for 10 years
and was promoted several times, ultimately to Staff Manufacturing
Engineer. He was a key player in many successful product
launches and helped the company implement vital technology
in assembly plants to help improve efficiency and streamline
engineering operations.
During
his time at GM, he successfully completed two international
assignments, living in Wiesbaden, Germany for over two
years. During these assignments he traveled extensively
throughout Western Europe and was instrumental in the
commonization of the North American and European engineering
centers.
Don
was also selected to be an official mentor to minority
co-op students to support them as they transitioned to
the professional environment.
Don has been married for 15 years. He and his wife, Rebecca,
have 3 children: Donald, Brooke and Chloe.

Theron
E. Barr, Co-founder of DT Global Enterprises,
has committed himself to reaching back to the urban environment
to lend a hand to those who are striving for success.
Theron
was born at Tyndall Air Force Base in Panama City, Florida.
He was raised in Silver Springs, Maryland and graduated
from the High Point Senior High School, of the Maryland
Public School system.
After high-school, Theron immediately enrolled at the
University of Maryland, College Park, and graduated with
a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Theron
Barr's professional career began in the area of military
consulting, providing mathematical models of weapon systems.
He secured a position at a leading missile manufacturer,
Lockheed Martin, and was promoted to a position of Senior
Engineer.
Theron's
career shifted in discipline when he became a Senior Engineer
for the world's largest manufacturer - General Motors.
He was soon promoted to Staff Manufacturing Engineer,
and was rewarded with a GM Fellowship. He graduated from
Northwestern University, in Chicago, Illinois, with a
Master of Science in Engineering Management degree.
Upon
completion of his graduate education, he was promoted
to the position of Executive Technical Assistant (Chief
of Staff) to the Executive Director of Manufacturing Engineering
for North America. In this role, he deployed a new business
plan that improved the efficiency and responsiveness of
the entire Manufacturing Engineering organization
In
addition to his other accomplishments, Theron is a certified
Project Management Professional, mentor to young professionals
and volunteer to many community-focused organizations.
Theron
is married to Rev. Dr. Cecelia Greene Barr. Together they
have two children, Theron Howard and Cecelia Elise.
